THE STORY BEGINS
In the three years following the arrival of THE DARKNESS, (unseen invaders have killed or captured much of humanity), the world has shifted from nation states to nomadic and tribal factions, each struggling to survive. No one knows why the invaders stopped at the 45th Parallel North, but not one sighting beyond those coordinates have filtered down to what was once the heartland of the United States of America. Those able to make their way to Canada before the onslaught have their own problems with overcrowding, food shortages, and a push to secure their boundaries. What is known about other continents are just whispered rumors, as the continued global interference keeps most of the world guessing as to what is coming next from the invaders, much less as to what they truly are and why they have come here in the first place. A small band of eight resistance fighters in rural Indiana take up stations organized and run with precision by CAPT TOM BARON (36) a former Iraq war vet, who along with his second in command, SHEILA WINTERS (29) have been tracking something or someone for the past day. Signals are quietly handed out to three of the eight to converge on an old barn and capture the inhabitant, but tripwires set off a series of hidden home-made concussive devices that stun the team, forcing Sheila from her position to tackle the lone target by herself. After a brief struggle, BRETT WATSON (25) freezes when he sees Sheila, who looks eerily like his old girlfriend - (which is the last thing he expected to see) before being knocked unconscious by Capt. Baron from behind. The story continues... |
DARK HARVEST: Resistance is the story of Brett Watson, before the world fell apart. His friends and family were unlucky enough to be at the epicenter of the invasion in the small farming community of Fair Oaks, Indiana. When people began to disappear, no one could imagine the horrors that would lie ahead.
Now, three years after the invasion began, his memories hold the key to the invaders plans, if only he could remember the traumatic events. |
